Orbit V7: The Best Orbits So Far

The Orbit V7, just like all the other Orbits before, got produced by Chris ‘Orbit’ Brown on a crushed stock with air cushion finish. As special gaff cards, they offer a double backer, duplicate Jokers and a duplicate 8 of spades. Besides that, the Cards offer a One-Way back design. The Orbit V7 got printed and cut at USPCC in a traditional way on the web press, which means the blade ran face down at the cards. This makes the V7 easier to control for shuffling, as well as perfect for face down table faro or weave shuffle(s). Most Casino’s prefer their Playing Cards cut in a traditional way, since it makes the table work easier for their dealers. Last but not least, the tuck box is presented in a matte finish and there have been 20.000 V7 printed, with an extra of 5.000 known as the ‘Orbit - V7 Parallel Edition’.

The V7 features a pink dominant center along with the mountain range from the V5 Orbits that are now inverted, so they are a window to what's behind the card rather than the original mountains. The colors dark   blue and pink with different shades of it are dominant on the tuck box. As for every Orbit deck, the number ‘‘23’’ is featured on top of the tuck box, which has a special meaning for Chris. Underneath of the tuck, the Orbit logo with a rainbow and the iconic DeLorean DMC-12 from ‘‘Back to the Future’’ can be seen.

As Chris Brown described the design choice: ‘‘The rainbow at the bottom of the box inside the Orbit logo is a direct tribute to the lives lost in the 1986 space shuttle Challenger on their mission STS-51-L.’’, the NASA used a similar rainbow for their future mission patches, with 7 orange stars to tribute the 7 lives lost during this mission.
The biggest difference is that the Orbit V7 are the first Orbit’s to be ever marked. Chris Brown uses the stars to mark the cards for suit and value (seen below). It’s an easy to read and very effective system for magic and gambling rounds. Even when the cards feature a one-way back design, you’re still able to read the markings from both sides, which is another great feature for magicians.

 I always wanted a deck that represents the 80s in some way, and I think that Chris ‘Orbit’ Brown achieved the stereotypical and futuristic view about the 1980s just perfectly. It’s a deck for magicians and cardists alike, which makes it great as an everyday carry or just as an collectible, to add another great Orbit deck to your collection.
